1. Why would I want to participate in the Fortnight Network?
Anytime Fortnight presents your Lead to a client, you earn substantial income from your knowledge. If the client chooses to pursue your lead in greater depth, additional opportunities for much larger compensation arise. Moreover, Fortnight provides you with the opportunity to make a real difference in numerous industries. See also here.

Consultants can use this opportunity to explore future projects specific to their skills. Many individuals (engineers, especially) are driven by the desire to see ideas come to full fruition. Perhaps they worked on a project that can be enhanced by working with the client. Many scientists enjoy the feeling of participating in bringing new ideas to market, or they may want to find new markets for their (or their associates') existing ideas. Or perhaps individual Experts participate just to read state-of-the-art applications as a catalyst for new ideas. The full list of reasons is continually growing.

Corporate Experts - those who participate on behalf of their employer - most certainly are looking for new sources of revenue. In many cases this may be realized by direct application of the products or services they currently offer (perhaps with some small modifications). In other cases, they may be able to achieve revenue from underutilized intellectual capital, or even from closely held trade secrets. An advantage of the Fortnight approach is that the corporation is able to select to which Requests they respond (and may opt to not disclose a particular trade secret to a particular client).
2. Do I have enough time to participate?
Yes! The Request process developed by Fortnight allows each Expert to determine how much time he or she can spend responding to each Request. Moreover, providing a Lead in response to a Request may require only a short amount of time — as little as 5 minutes. We understand that our Experts probably maintain employment at a third party, and that family and other demands on each Expert's schedule may restrict the amount of time you can dedicate to Fortnight. Fortnight was designed to function with this in mind. For some example interactions, click here.
3. Are the financial rewards sufficient to compensate for my time & efforts?
Only the most promising (typically the best six) Leads to each Request are presented to the client, and thus are rewarded typically around $250 (exact amount will be specified in the Request). If, as you read a Request, you think of a good source that can offer a solution, submitting a Lead is simple and easy to do and may take little time. Checking with your friends and contacts to see if they have a likely lead can also be a quick method to find a Lead to submit. If the client decides to pursue your Lead In-Depth, you may spend more time on the solution, but you also receive significantly greater compensation (approximately ten times the compensation for the initial Lead).
4. Do I have sufficient expertise to address the Requests? I haven't seen many pertinent to my expertise.
An important advantage Fortnight has over more traditional search firms is the breadth of its expert base. Even if you cannot respond directly to many of the Requests, you may know someone or some company that can. Just that information (who you think has a solution) may be an ideal Lead
5. I think I know a company that can provide a solution, but I'm certain that that company won't sell it.
This may indeed be the case, but Fortnight wants to know about the Solution Provider anyway. Our client may have sufficient resources to make licensing quite desirable or otherwise be able to change the mind of the Solution Provider.
6. I submitted a Lead which has been selected for an In-Depth study, but don't have enough time to pursue it any further.
The Fortnight Associate working with the client will contact you to find out how to work within your busy schedule. Depending on the situation, Fortnight can also find a different Expert who has the time and expertise to continue the pursuit.
